Agra Fort


Akbar, the grand son of Babar designed his investment at Agra and set the groundwork of the Agra Ft. He began development of this grand fort in 1565 when he was only 23 decades of age. This magnificent red sandstone framework is the best example of workmanship of the Mughal era. After Taj this was one of the most essential list of structures. The development was began in 1565 and was finished in about eight decades at a price of 30 five lakh of rupees under the superintendence of Qasim Khan Mir Barr-u-Bahr. This fort was designed on the financial institutions of the stream Yamuna.

This ft was just one of the many huge prepared homes that the emperor desired to have at various ideal factors of his kingdom. According to Abul Fazal, the ft included over five number of structures. But later on Akbar's enfant included new structures, mainly in stone to the ft and destroyed the old ones.

Later some other structures were included by Shah Jahan to the Agra Ft. These structures are the Moti Masjid (pearl mosque) and the Diwan-e-Aam (hall of community audience) from where a passing and actions cause to Macchi Bhawan (the elegant aquarium). At the Chittor Gateways, awards of Akbar's records of a Rajput castle in 1657 are shown. Towards the riverside is the Diwan-e-Khas (hall of personal audience), designed by Shah Jahan in 1637. On the veranda beyond, are two thrones in bright stone and dark record. From here the elegant prince Jehangir used to look at the hippo battles on the flatlands below. From here a stairway causes the Musamman Burj (Jasmine tower). It has a wonderful courtyard introduced with pieces of dark stone on one part. It is considered that this octagonal in shape structure had a huge gong that put from the bastions to the floor. This gong was step by those who came to search for rights. Shah Jahan desired to develop a duplicate of the bright Taj in dark stone as well and hook up them through a link across the ocean of Yamuna. Before he could do so he dropped ill and was soon caught in the Agra Ft by his son Aurangzeb along with his girl Jahan Ara, where he lastly inhaled his last

By Road:

Agra boasts of three National Highways including N.H. No. 2, 3 and 11. The government and private bus services are available to and from Agra to all the nearby major destinations. One can hire ordinary buses or the deluxe coaches, according to their requirements. U.P. Tourism also conducts special guided tours for the tourists, who come here just for a day, including Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Sikandra and Fatehpur Sikri in their itineraries
